Dollhouse is the name of the new series by Joss Whedon that is supposed to air in Fall 2008. "It's very dark and very weird" says Whedon. The plot is just awesome, I can't wait to see how it's developed (and I'm even more exciting knowing that Michelle Forbes and Ben Browder are two of the names people are talking about for the rest of the cast - Eliza Dushku will be playing the main role).

The idea in which it'll be based reminded me of A brave new world so it has already a great appeal to me.

Dollhouse is a FOX series created by Joss Whedon (Angel, Firefly) and starring and produced by Eliza Dushku. The concept is change; it follows a top-secret world of people programmed with different personalities, abilities and memories depending on their mission.
The show centers on Echo, as she slowly begins to develop some self-awareness, which impacts her missions. Echo is a young woman who is literally everybody's fantasy. She is one of a group of men and women who can be imprinted with personality packages, including memories, skills, language—even muscle memory—for different assignments. The assignments can be romantic, adventurous, outlandish, uplifting, sexual and/or very illegal. When not imprinted with a personality package, Echo and the others are basically mind-wiped, living like children in a futuristic dorm/lab dubbed the Dollhouse, with no memory of their assignments—or of much else. The show revolves around the childlike Echo's burgeoning self-awareness, and her desire to know who she was before, a desire that begins to seep into her various imprinted personalities and puts her in danger both in the field and in the closely monitored confines of the Dollhouse.

And, about Caprica (BSG spin-off): It already appears in IMDB but I'm not sure about the plot:

Two families, the Graystones and the Adamas, live together on a peaceful planet known as Caprica, where a startling breakthrough in artificial intelligence brings about unforeseen consequences. A spin-off of the Sci Fi Channel series "Battlestar Galactica" set 50 years prior to the events of that show.

And not just that, I've just read this (which doesn't really makes me think about a great spin-off and I'm not sure what I'll be at the end):

Was originally pitched to NBC/Universal by Remi Aubuchon as an independent series with no connection to the Battlestar Galactica franchise. NBC/Universal read the pilot (an allegorical story about slavery with robots) and suggested Aubuchon meet with Ronald D. Moore and David Eick (who were considering a Battlestar Galactica spin-off series at the time). Aubuchon, Moore and Eick met and within a couple of months the "Caprica" series was born.

But, anyway, it seems we're not going to have Caprica for a while. Let's just hope we'll have it after the end of BSG.
